The noted John F. Kennedy collection of Maryland collector Robert L. White saw amazing results. Those results not only offer proof of the heat on any Kennedy item, but also the collecting hobby itself. The auction gathered worldwide media attention for the significant sale of a watch that Kennedy had received as a
gift right before the 1960 Presidential Election.
A watch that Marilyn Monroe reportedly gave President Kennedy
as a birthday gift has fetched $120,000 at an auction. The gold Rolex
is inscribed: "Jack, With love as always from Marilyn May 29th 1962."
Kennedy was born May 29, 1917.
The watch case contains a poem, written on a small piece of paper, titled,
"A Heartfelt Plea on Your Birthday."
The poem reads:
"Let lovers breathe their sighs
And roses bloom and music sound
Let passion burn on lips and eyes
And pleasures merry world go round
Let golden sunshine flood the sky
And let me love
Or let me die!''

Each and every person had a great time at this event, as you can see by the images provided below. I have been doing this gtg for years now. I look forward to having a 5th ann, GTG to be held sometime next year, it should be a blast. It guess it will be called Phila5 day, I'll keep you posted, lol

I've always loved watches-even when I was a kid I insisted my parents buy me one, although they tended to get lost pretty quickly.
I went through a few dozen Timex before learning how to keep a watch for more than a few months. In my twenties I lacked the financial wherewithal to own much of anything, but by my thirties I was buying vintage watches whenever affordable. Then, my career began to take off, so did my finances, and real timepieces were within reach.
The Classic Heuer Monaco Chronograph design
has stayed on the minds of watch fans since the creation of this fine
sports watch. Some of these watches are fetching large sums of money and
I feel are very much worth it. If I only could have bought some of these
watches ten years ago when offered to me I would be a happy camper today.
