![]() The winner of the watch was the Swiss Watch Company Omega. The watch will be placed in the Omega Museum next to the first watch worn on the moon. That trip to the moon had been made possible by Kennedy's vision. The auctioned watch had been give to JFK by his friend Grant Stockdale right
before the election. Kennedy had the back engraved with the following: "President
of the Untied States John F. Kennedy from his friend Grant" Many consider
this engraving to be either a sign of Kennedy's confidence or his sense of humor. |
