JFK's Watch In Auction

John F. Kennedy Watch Brings $350,000

According to : Auctions/Prices, Scoop, Friday, December 23, 2005

JFK omega watch
The noted John F. Kennedy collection of Maryland collector Robert L. White saw amazing results. Those results not only offer proof of the heat on any Kennedy item, but also the collecting hobby itself. The auction gathered worldwide media attention for the significant sale of a watch that Kennedy had received as a gift right before the 1960 Presidential Election.
The winner of the watch was the Swiss Watch Company Omega. The watch will be placed in the Omega Museum next to the first watch worn on the moon. That trip to the moon had been made possible by Kennedy's vision.

The auctioned watch had been give to JFK by his friend Grant Stockdale right before the election. Kennedy had the back engraved with the following: "President of the Untied States John F. Kennedy from his friend Grant" Many consider this engraving to be either a sign of Kennedy's confidence or his sense of humor.
